CATIFA CARTA
REDEFINING BEAUTY

A CIRCULAR PROCESS

Catifa Carta's shell is made entirely of PaperShell, a groundbreaking material derived from paper. It retains carbon dioxide captured by trees, significantly reducing the chair’s environmental impact. At the end of its life, the material returns to the earth as biochar, locking in the CO2.

PUSHING THE LEGACY
INTO THE FUTURE

Lievore Altherr Molina was founded by Alberto Lievore, Jeannette Altherr and Manel Molina in 1991. In 2001 they designed Catifa 53 — one of our most awarded collections and the first with an environmental product declaration. Building on this legacy, Catifa Carta is a groundbreaking reimagination of the timeless Catifa 53, featuring a re-engineered shell made from a paper-derived material that maintains the same strength and comfort that define Catifa’s iconic bi-curved silhouette.
